Goodwill Ambassador Announcement-January 2003

Mr. Lasse Becker of BSBI- Baltic Sea Business Initiative has been chosen as a Goodwill Ambassador to Copenhagen and the Oresund Region. Baltic Sea Business Initiative is an international business and financial advisor and consulting group, specializing in Cross Atlantic transactions between the US and the Baltic Region. Mr Becker will be a member of The Goodwill Ambassador Corps and assist the two organisations, Copenhagen Capacity and Wonderful Copenhagen in the international marketing of Copenhagen. This is a tremendous honour and will require extensive work and time.

Copenhagen Capacity is a business foundation set up in 1994 by the members of Greater Copenhagen Development Council (“HUR”). The object of the foundation is to market the Capital Region internationally as an attractive place to locate foreign companies.

Copenhagen Capacity markets the Capital Region abroad. Special focus is placed on the branches, which already have a marked profile in the region: biotechnology, food, information technology & telecommunications, logistics and distribution.

The object is to secure the Capital Region the position as a North European centre with improved internationalisation, economic growth, and the creation of new jobs.

Copenhagen Capacity gives professional advice and service to foreign investors who think of star-ting future activities in the Capital Region. The services, free of charge, are:

· Information on general and specific location conditions
· Advice and preparation of individual analyses in the investigation phase
· Planning of visiting programmes in the region and assistance during the visit
· Co-ordination with and contact to possible co-operation partners, local authorities and companies, and advisors and experts such as real estate brokers, lawyers, etc.
· Assistance in the establishment phase

Wonderful Copenhagen is Greater Copenhagen's official congress and tourism organisation, estab-lished in 1992 by the Copenhagen Capacity is a business foundation set up in 1994 by the members of Greater Copenhagen Development Council (“HUR”) and the Ministry of Trade & Business, Denmark's Tourist Council, Copenhagen's Tourist Association and the City Centre of Copenhagen.

Wonderful Copenhagen endeavours to strengthen the income and employment of the tourism in Greater Copenhagen by assisting in making the region a competitive, attractive and obvious destination for tourists as well as business people. The organisation's mission is to support the daily work, which is done in Greater Copenhagen in order to attract tourists and to be at service when in town. Wonderful Copenhagen is handling all aspects of Copenhagen as a tourist and travel destination: marketing, PR, brochures, Internet, congress bureau, tourist bureau, booking, product development, strategic planning, analyses, statistics, etc.
